What a fall it’s been so far! Has the year been flying by for
you all too? I want to talk about the John Govani Memorial Open Hunt Event that
took place on October 7. The event was named after John Govani, the past Vice
President of the Massachusetts Treasure Hunting Association. This was an open
hunt featuring detectorists from all over New England. It’s nice because you
get to talk with treasure hunters from different clubs.
Even though I could not attend due to back surgery recovery,
I was very happy to help by donating a metal detector and other items. I
personally have always been a fan of reaching out in any way I can to other
treasure hunters, in order to help spread awareness of the great benefits of
the hobby. I enjoy sponsoring the event each year. They are a great group of
detectorists! I highly recommend checking them out!
Below, you can see some pictures sent to me courtesy of the Massachusetts Treasure Hunting Association. In the first photo below, is Paul St.
Claire who won the GO-FIND and in the second photo is Bill Scuturro, who won a White’s Ground Hawg shovel!
Happy Treasure Hunting!
