I haven't tried it on the beach or under water yet but it's great on land; I've found things on my property that I had no idea would be there. I also used it to find buried phone lines before land scapeing my yard. They shipped very fast and was simple to put togather; I love the digatal read out; no meters to malfuction.

When I was 7 years old, I got a Radio Shack metal detector for Christmas. We had SO MUCH FUN finding stuff around the neighborhood. I always joke with my wife about wanting to get a metal detector - and this Christmas she got me one! I have used it in the yard and found a number of coins. The discrimination has worked well, and is very definite when it finds coins vs. trash. It's so sensitive, I can hardly walk 4 feet without finding something else. I really like how simple the controls are. I'm looking forward to expanding beyond my yard to hunt for more interesting stuff!
