this is a good detector for someone that is in the beginning stages of the hobby such as myself. for the first week or two it took some getting used to. it will pick up copper pennies and most silver coins fairly accurately. the only down side is that when detecting nickels...especially silver nickels the data screen will jump all over the place making you think it is a beer tab or foriegn debris. also make sure you have plenty of batteries. i use name brand batteries and they will last maybe six to eight hours and then the battery low light will come on and your readings will go all haywire. overall for the price it is a great item for the beginner and would recomend it to get what i like to call the good old fashion way of finding coins without a pinpointer, not that that is a bad thing. i have used it for about roughly 1 month and have found at the old fairgrounds in my neighborhood 561 coins..mostly wheat pennys, mercury dimes, silver nickels, and silver quarters.

So far this metal detector has been really fun and easy to use. It has been very accurate pinpointing different metals. I am happy up to this point and look forward to getting a lot of good use out of this metal detector.

I use my Detector just about anywhere. I usually keep it in my vehicle so if I happen upon a good hunt spot like a cementary, gathering sights, old homesteads etc. then Im ready to hit it right then. I wouldnt consider myself a beginner but still no Pro! This hobby is something that I am getting pretty darn good at. Exercise is the bonus!
